The group BTS (RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, Jungkook) stood shoulder to shoulder with global pop stars as the main act of the halftime show at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America.

On the 20th (Korean time), BTS appeared as co-headliners alongside Madonna, Shakira, and Justin Bieber during the halftime show of the final match between Spain and Argentina held at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, New York, USA. Prior to this, Jungkook had previously shone on the opening ceremony stage of the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

This marks the first time in World Cup history, which began in 1930, that a performance was held during a match. Coldplay's Chris Martin served as curator for the show.

The opening was staged by 'Queen of Pop' Madonna, with Brazilian legendary football players Ronaldinho and Ronaldo appearing together on stage.

BTS took over from Madonna's baton and passionately performed 'Dynamite'. Starting with the intro led by Jungkook and V, Suga, RM, J-Hope, Jin, and Jimin appeared in sequence, prompting the audience to erupt in cheers.

The members donned outfits decorated in red, black, and white, along with patches featuring the 'Red Devils', exuding dynamic energy. Most notably, their powerful group choreography performed alongside dozens of dancers instantly transformed the stadium into a festival venue.

Following this, Justin Bieber, carrying a guitar, sang 'EVERYTHING HALLELUJAH', while Shakira continued the lively atmosphere with 'Dai Dai'.

Before the performance, BTS shared their thoughts: "We are deeply honored to stand on such a meaningful stage where people from around the world come together. We believe music is a universal language that conveys hope and unity. Through this World Cup, we are delighted to share this message with global viewers and contribute to expanding educational opportunities for children."
