Actor Lee Dong-wook shared his thoughts after appearing in 'Pinggyeogo' for the tenth time.

On the afternoon of the 23rd, Lee Dong-wook conducted an interview with StarNews at a café in Sinsa-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. He visited global viewers on the 22nd through the OTT Disney+ original series 'Killer's Shopping Mall 2'.

'Killer's Shopping Mall 2' captivated global audiences with its first season in 2024 and returns after two years. Season 2 follows Ji-an (played by Kim Hye-jun), who has become the new CEO of the shopping mall after a grueling handover, as she teams up with Jin-man (played by Lee Dong-wook) to launch a full-scale counterattack against the global power 'Babylon'.

Lee Dong-wook also completed filming for 'Pinggyeogo', a web variety show hosted by Kim Hye-jun and 'National MC' Yoo Jae-suk, as part of promotional activities for 'Killer's Shopping Mall 2'. The episode is set to be released on the YouTube channel 'Tteuntteun' at 9 a.m. on the 25th.

In response, Lee Dong-wook said in his signature deadpan tone, "This will be my tenth appearance, and I'll become an honorary member this episode. Congratulations to Kim Hye-jun on her 'Pinggyeogo' debut," eliciting laughter.

He then added, "I worry that viewers might get tired of it, but (Yoo) Jae-suk and Heo Kyeong-hwan had fun filming together."

When asked about his chances at this year's 'Pinggyeogo' awards ceremony, he replied, "First, Kim Hye-jun-ui (수상) seems impossible. I also think it's impossible for me this year. Didn't my performance in 'Pinggyeogo' feel too modest? It was a 2026 that made me reflect on myself," showing humility unbecoming of an 'inaugural award recipient'.

Asked if he had any target candidates to watch, Lee Dong-wook said seriously as a regular guest on 'Pinggyeogo', "We should wait and see who becomes the award nominee. Isn't 'Punghyangjung' also coming out soon? I think we need to keep an eye on it."

He continued, "It's fun and nice that people talk about 'Pinggyeogo' wherever I go. It feels like I've grown closer to the viewers, and I enjoy becoming a conversation starter with people I'm meeting for the first time," expressing special affection for 'Pinggyeogo'.

Meanwhile, 'Killer's Shopping Mall 2' has so far released two episodes and is scheduled as an eight-episode series, with two episodes airing every Wednesday.
