Chef Choi Hyun-seok’s daughter, Choi Yeon-soo, revealed the true reason behind her decision to wean.

On the 17th, through communication with fans, Choi Yeon-soo disclosed the reason for stopping breastfeeding: “I am undergoing physical therapy, taking medication, and applying patches due to trigger finger syndrome, and I was worried it might be harmful to my baby.” She added, “While breastfeeding, I constantly checked on my baby, which led to severe forward head posture and stiff shoulders.”

She further shared, “I also experienced depression due to physical changes, such as alterations in the shape of my chest. Although I would like to see those cute moments again now, it’s something only a mother can decide. There are regrets, but no remorse.”

Choi Yeon-soo stated, “(My child) is so beautiful, but as 100 days approach, he starts screaming and getting angry. Even though (my husband) usually handles things well, I still feel something isn’t right.”

Trigger finger syndrome is a condition where clicking sounds, locking sensations, and pain occur when bending or straightening the fingers. It mainly arises from hormonal changes before and after pregnancy and childbirth or excessive use of the fingers.

Meanwhile, Choi Yeon-soo married Kim Taehyun, a member of the band DickPunks who is 12 years her senior, in September 2025. She announced her pregnancy in December 2025 and gave birth to her son about one month early last May due to symptoms of gestational hypertension.
