Wendy (32), a member of the group Red Velvet, has finally decided to take legal action against malicious comments targeting her appearance and body.

ASND, Wendy's agency, announced on the 19th via its official SNS: "As previously stated in our public notice, we intend to respond severely to acts such as malicious slander, dissemination of false information, defamation, and sexual harassment directed at our artists. Despite this warning, malicious comments and remarks targeting our artist's appearance and body, including derogatory language and sexual objectification, have continued to appear in posts and comments."

The agency further stated: "In particular, any act that sexually references or comments on the artist's body, mocks or belittles her appearance and physique, or maliciously spreads false information constitutes clear defamation that cannot be dismissed as mere opinion or freedom of expression. Such acts violate the artist's personality and rights."

Wendy's side emphasized: "We are continuously collecting evidence from all currently identified posts and comments, as well as any future malicious content. Regardless of the severity of the case, we will actively respond to any actions that infringe upon our artist's rights. Moving forward, we will continue to monitor malicious behavior to protect our artist's personality and rights, and will take strong legal action when necessary."

Recently, Wendy appeared noticeably thinner at public events, raising concerns among fans. However, during this period, some malicious commenters left indiscriminate appearance-based insults in comments, causing widespread criticism. In response, Wendy's agency has officially declared its intention to take legal measures to protect the artist.
