Police announced that they have taken action to allow Nancy Rang (50, real name Park Hye-ryung), a pop artist and broadcaster, to return home after charging her with drunk driving.

An official from Seoul Gangnam Police Station told StarNews on the 8th, "Nancy Rang was charged with drunk driving early today."

The police stated, "Nancy Rang was charged with drinking alcohol and driving in Seoul Gangnam-gu around 3:45 a.m. today, and she was allowed to return home from the scene. 'We cannot determine whether she was completely intoxicated from our perspective, but her blood alcohol concentration at the time was indeed above 0.08%, which is the level for license revocation.'"

The police said they plan to investigate the specific details of the incident and added, "We will schedule a summons for further investigation."

In response, Nancy Rang told StarNews today, "There are parts in the currently reported content that differ from the facts. I did not go to the police station after being charged early this morning (8th), nor was I taken into custody or formally charged. With the help of an acquaintance, I returned home safely."

She continued, "I admit that my decision to drive after having one or two glasses of champagne at a friend's birthday gathering yesterday (7th) was careless. However, terms like 'completely intoxicated,' 'arrested,' 'charged,' and 'taken to the police station' do not reflect the actual situation."

Nancy Rang's agency, Megaton Entertainment, also clarified, "They measured her alcohol level when she was almost home. She had one or two glasses of champagne. It was neither complete intoxication nor at the level for license revocation."
