Actress Kim Gyu-ri has issued a statement regarding allegations that the national flag, the Taegeukgi, was flown upside down near the cafe she operates.

Recently, photos of the exterior of Kim Gyu-ri's cafe in Yeongam County, South Jeolla Province, have spread on OnLINE. The images showed the Taegeukgi in front of Kim Gyu-ri's building hanging inverted, sparking controversy. However, it has not been confirmed whether the Taegeukgi in question was hoisted by Kim Gyu-ri's side.

In response, Kim Gyu-ri said, "Oh my, is the season of harvest approaching?" and stated, "Under Article 70, Paragraph 2 of the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, etc. (Information and Communications Network Act), anyone who publicly reveals false facts through an information and communications network with the intent to defame a person, thereby damaging another's reputation, shall be punished by imprisonment for not more than seven years, suspension of qualifications for not more than ten years, or a fine of not more than 50 million won."

She further warned, "Please be aware that you may be subject to punishment under the aforementioned law if you defame someone by stating unverified false facts."

Additionally, she added, "For reference, individuals who arbitrarily hang or attach items to utility poles are subject to punishment for petty crimes."
