While he has promptly bowed his head in response to other issues, there has still been no mention of musical theater actor Kim Ho-yeong’s “Okjangpan” controversy.

On the 10th, Kim Ho-yeong stated, “To the Traditional Music Girls who gave a great interview. Thanks to you, the content turned out fresh and lively, but I am very worried and sorry that some people may have been hurt,” adding, “I think it is because all our friends are pretty and bright that jealous people have appeared. I apologize on your behalf.”

Prior to this, the production team of the YouTube channel “Too Much Kim Ho-yeong” also issued a notice titled “Notice Regarding Unauthorized Distribution of Jamsil Cafe Interview Video and Malicious Comments” on the same day, stating, “At the time, the Traditional Music Girls responded to the interview with bright and cheerful demeanor, and we captured that beautiful appearance in the video. However, we have confirmed that some accounts have been distributing the video without authorization and posting inappropriate comments directed at the students who appeared in the video.”

They continued, “We sincerely express our regret to the students and their parents who may have been hurt by such comments. It is very regrettable and a heavy burden that a moment which should have remained as a pleasant and good memory has become one of hurt and pain for someone.”

The production team revealed, “Our channel is currently in the process of deleting all segments containing the interview to protect the students and prevent further damage, and we plan to make the video private until the deletion work is completed,” adding, “We will secure relevant materials and proceed with platform reports and necessary legal action against acts of unauthorized distribution of our channel’s videos or writing malicious and inappropriate comments directed at the participating students.”

“Too Much Kim Ho-yeong” recently featured Kim Ho-yeong visiting a new cafe in Jamsil to converse with citizens. In this, students from a traditional music middle school revealed their majors, such as geomungo, haegeum, and ajaeng, and shared the hardships of exam candidates who practice for at least three hours a day.

However, Kim Ho-yeong’s recent actions are drawing attention as they are compared to his continued silence regarding the “Okjangpan” controversy.

Previously, in July, Kim Ho-yeong was asked by Ok Ju-hyun to apologize for the “Okjangpan” controversy that surfaced in 2022, but he remains silent. At the time, after Kim Ho-yeong posted a message stating, “The ‘Asaripan’ is a thing of the past. Now it’s the ‘Okjangpan,’” regarding suspicions of nepotism casting surrounding the musical “Elisabeth,” Ok Ju-hyun sued him for defamation. After Kim Ho-yeong explained that he had written the post to help the father of an acquaintance who sells mattresses and carpets, she withdrew the lawsuit.

However, in July, Ok Ju-hyun stated, “Withdrawing the lawsuit is the thing I regret most,” adding, “I have never received a proper apology. I want to ask why the public thinks of me when it comes to ‘Okjangpan,’ and why this frame has followed me until now.”
