The scene of the 80th birthday celebration for actress Yoon Yeo-jeong (79), the first Asian recipient of the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress, has been revealed, sparking attention.

Professor Jung Jae-seung of KAIST shared photos from Yoon’s 80th birthday party on his social media account on the 17th. Born in 1947, Yoon turned 80 this year by Korean age reckoning.

The professor wrote, “A modest 80th birthday party for Professor Yoon Yeo-jeong held at her home just among us. Delicious food, an exceptional guitar sanjo performance by Kim Su-chul hyungnim, a meaningful painting gift from Professor Jung Hyeon. And conversations full of laughter that were not cold.”

The photos released alongside the post captured Yoon, the star of the day, gazing at her acquaintances with a gentle smile and enjoying the 80th birthday celebration. In particular, the Oscar (Academy Awards) trophy, an indispensable part of Yoon’s life, was also caught in the frame, once again reminding viewers of her unparalleled achievements.

Yoon made history by winning Best Supporting Actress at the 93rd Academy Awards in 2021 for the film “Minari.”
