In “Merry Berry Love,” actor Ji Chang-wook previews his bromance chemistry with Nam Yun-su.

CJ ENM’s global content “Merry Berry Love” (directed by Kim Soo-jung and Noh Young-seop / written by Lee Jae-yoon) is a sweet-and-sour, cross-border romance unfolding on a beautiful island between Yoo Bi-vin (played by Ji Chang-wook), a Korean space planner who has hit rock bottom, and Shirahama Karin (played by Imada Mio), a Japanese female farmer. “Merry Berry Love,” which is being loved as a “high-sugar romantic comedy” that showcases the mature performance of Ji Chang-wook, the returned “master of rom-coms,” and the charm of K-rom-coms, has risen to No. 2 on Disney+’s worldwide TV show chart just two days after its release, and secured a spot in the top 10 for Disney+ TV shows in 72 countries and regions around the world, drawing intense global reactions.

In the first and second episodes, Yoo Bi-vin, a “space planner” who went from being a top-tier industry player to an unemployed person overnight due to a friend’s betrayal, was depicted struggling on Charo Island to make a comeback. To seize a golden opportunity that could change his life, Yoo Bi-vin took a job as a laborer in Shirahama Karin’s strawberry field, adding intrigue. Consequently, attention is now focused on Yoo Bi-vin’s new rural life on Charo Island.

Amid this, “Merry Berry Love” is drawing interest by previewing the activities of Yoo Bi-vin’s new ally, Park Gu-nam (played by Nam Yun-su). Gu-nam is a young Korean on a working holiday on Charo Island who has fallen for Karin’s friend Mizuno Mari (played by Kumada Rinka), and he had unexpectedly shown kindness to Yoo Bi-vin on the day Yoo Bi-vin first arrived on the island. This time, the two formally declare an alliance to prepare for “Green Nova Corporation Festa,” a major event on Charo Island—a crop exhibition—and launch top-tier support to help Karin.

The stills released on the 21st capture the bustling scene of Yoo Bi-vin and Gu-nam preparing for the festa. Yoo Bi-vin is shown surrounded by residents of Charo Island, drawing all the attention. His image of having fully adapted to life on Charo Island, as he accepts food that local elderly people keep putting in his mouth, elicits laughter. Yoo Bi-vin takes charge of designing the festa booths, leveraging his professional skills in space planning.

Along with this, Gu-nam’s transformation into a cheerleader catches the eye. Holding cheerleading pom-poms in both hands, Gu-nam performs energetic cheering moves with sparkling eyes. Gu-nam’s passion, shown through his burning gaze as he declares a strong resolve to gain the upper hand in the cheering competition, provides humor.

As Yoo Bi-vin and Gu-nam join forces to win Charo Island’s agricultural festa, their synergy is anticipated, while it is also previewed that Yoo Bi-vin and Karin will gradually open up to each other and grow closer through their preparations for the festa, heightening anticipation. Above all, as Yoo Bi-vin and Karin begin living under one roof, expectations are rising for what will happen between them and how their romance will become even sweeter.

From the fun alliance bromance between Yoo Bi-vin and Gu-nam to the high-sugar cohabitation romance between Yoo Bi-vin and Karin, Episode 3 of “Merry Berry Love,” which promises an overflow of excitement and laughter, can be viewed on the night of the 21st.
