Comedian Park Sung-kwang shared an update on his pet dog, "Gwangbok," following its surgery for pleural effusion.

On the 26th, Park posted on his personal account, "I visited Gwangbok over the weekend! Our Gwangbok is holding on well and overcoming it with strength!"

He continued, "It seems that the prayers and support you have sent are giving Gwangbok great strength. Thank you so much for sending your warm hearts," adding, "Gwangbok, just a little more effort."

In the released video, Gwangbok, with bandages wrapped around its body and front paws and an IV line inserted, was seen struggling to approach Park Sung-kwang, who had come to the animal hospital, and wagging its tail. Park held Gwangbok in his arms and stroked it affectionately.

Park said, "Eat your food, drink your water, and let's get discharged soon," while tending to Gwangbok's meal.

On the 19th, Park revealed that he had decided on surgery regarding the condition of Gwangbok, who turned 12 years old. Gwangbok was hospitalized for pleural effusion on December 23 last year and later discharged, but the condition recurred in March.

Park disclosed that Gwangbok had been to the emergency room twice within a week, stating, "Entering Stage D," and explaining, "There are limits to holding on with medication. The kidneys are already severely damaged." He added, "So, after much deliberation and consultation with my family, we will have surgery on the 19th, 2026. Please pray for Gwangbok to hold on and overcome it well."

Meanwhile, Park married Lee Sol-i in 2020.
