The Grandmasters starring Song Hye Kyo goes to Berlin International Film Festival

The movie The Grandmasters, starring Song Hye Kyo, Tony Leung Chiu Wai, and Ziyi Zhang, was recently selected as the opening film of the Berlin International Film Festival next year.


According to an official for the festival on December 19 (local time), the movie will be shown at the 63rd Berlin International Film Festival, which will be held on February 7 through 17, as an opening film.


The movie is about Yip Man, who was Bruce Lee’s master. It was directed by Wong Kar Wai, who has become popular with the movies Ashes Of Time, Chungking Express, Happy Together, and In The Mood For Love. The movie drew a lot of attention by casting Chinese top stars Tony Leung Chiu Wai, Ziyi Zhang, and Chen Chang, and Korean top actress Song.


Korean movie Nobodys Daughter Haewon, directed by Hong Sang Soo, is also nominated for the festival. Lee Sun Kyun, Jung Eun Chae, Yoo Jun Sang, and Ye Ji Won appeared in the movie.
