B1A4 recently received two awards at the 27th Golden Disc Awards in Japan, which was held on January 7.

Sponsored by the Recording Industry Association of Japan, the Golden Disc in Japan selects artists who have been the most active for a year.

B1A4 received the New Artist of the Year and the Best New Artist at the awards.

Along with B1A4, One Direction, one of the most popular British boy bands, and Nogijaka 46, who debuted in 2011 as a rival of AKB48, received the New Artist of the Year.

IU and Boyfriend also received the Best New Artist Award.

B1A4 debuted in Japan in June last year with “Beautiful Target: Japanese Version.” All tickets for the group’s first concerts at the Yokohama Arena and at the Kobe World Memorial Hall were sold out in only three minutes.

B1A4 say, “We can’t believe that we received two awards at the Golden Disc in Japan. Thanks to your support, we could receive the awards. We really appreciate and will work harder in 2013.”

B1A4 have been taking a break since they finished the first concert in Korea in December last year. They’re currently preparing for the first concert in Japan, which will be held at the end of this month.
