Singer/dancer ‘Chris’ and ‘SM Entertainment’ have failed to agree with each others’ terms regarding Chris’s accusations towards the K-pop/Korean entertainment power house.

On July 8th, the first official legal negotiations regarding ‘Chris’ ‘s contract took place at the Seoul Central District Court.

In hopes of finding a solution and terms which both sides can agree upon, several lawyers were called in to assist with the matter. However, negotiations concluded with absolutely no progress and both sides still in differing terms with one another.

One of the lawyers involved with the case stated that “The trial is still in progress” and that “There’s nothing more I have to say” before walking away. It seems the trial will resume in seeking a solution.

‘Chris’ opted out of his contract on May 15th and is claiming that ‘SM Entertainment’ owe him a total sum of 20,000 dollars.

‘Chris’ is accusing ‘SM Entertainment’ of poor artist management and inaccurate monetary reward.

Through his manager, ‘Chris’ has expressed his concerns with the way ‘SM’ treats its trainees, stating that “Trainees can only afford instant foods. Even after they’ve debuted, they treat them like accessories and not like the pop culture icons that they are.”

‘SM’ has stated that “We are very embarrassed” and that “We doing everything we can to keep ‘EXO’ ‘s activities and performances flowing smoothly.”

During an interview in ‘China’, several ‘EXO’ members have criticized ‘Chris’ ‘s behavior, stating that “All the members are tired and hurt by this conflict, we are sad that this had to happen before a big concert.”
