[Gunman in Joseon] is realizing their popularity by the public’s unique creations such as various parodies and neologism

KBS 2TV’s Wed Thurs drama [Gunman in Joseon] forewarns the secret gunman story of ‘Park Yoon-gang’(Lee Joon-ki) coming back to Joseon with a gun at his sides after disguising himself as Japanese gentleman ‘Hanjo.’ With the comeback of ‘Park Yoon-Gang,’ the drama has entered into a whole new level.

Every episodes of [Gunman in Joseon]shows fascinating actions and heart beating romance and the audiences are constantly entertained. As if it was to prove the popularity of [Gunman in Joseon], numerous writings are being posted on various SNS and in viewers’ online bulletin board. Many humorous postings are also being spotted too.

Audiences created a neologism expression of ‘Jo-chong Jo-chong’ in order to show their desperate eagerness for [Gunman in Joseon]‘s broadcasting. Rather than the original expression of ‘Do-geun Do-geun,’ which is a Korean word meaning pit-a-pat, audiences tended to use Jo-chong, a rifle that ‘Park Yoon-Gang’ uses well.

They expressed their waiting of drama’s broadcasting day, which are Wednesday and Thursday, by making funny onomatopoeic words. Also, audiences are not only ‘Jo-chong Jo-chong’ by the the broadcasting day, but the splendid main actor ‘Lee Joon-Gi’ makes them skip a beat as well. Many female audiences are falling for him since he is able to act in action, romance and even heroic scenes during the drama.

The representative of all parodies, and the most popular parody is definitely ‘Termina-Oh-sung.’ Audiences edited the scene of character ‘Choi Won-sin’(Yoo Oh-sung) who is the best sniper and villian in the drama, coming out of lake with movie ‘Terminator’s character ‘Terminator.’

Yoo Oh-sung has been given the nick name “The 8th zenith of Termina-Oh-sung” by fans. It is heard from the staffs in the drama taking site that he also is very much enjoying this parody too.

Meanwhile ‘Gunman in Joseon’ is a emotional action romance drama that follows the story of Joseon’s last swordsman transforming to a gunsman and becoming the hero of the Joseon dynasty. It is broadcasted every Wednesday and Thursday at 10pm.
