"Emptiness" is a pop genre song based on Afrobeat, delivering a calm yet resolute message of separation between love and betrayal. The lyrics depict a journey of healing one's wounded heart, resonating with BoA's composed and delicate vocals.

Especially, BoA participated in the composition, lyrics, and arrangement of this song. She has previously received positive responses for her first self-composed title track in her 7th regular album, "Only One," her 8th album "Kiss My Lips," which was entirely composed of self-composed songs, and the title track "Forgive Me" from her 3rd mini-album, for which she participated in composing and writing lyrics.
