'BabyMonster' debuts with No.1 record on K-pop girl group debut album chart.

YG Entertainment's rookie girl group 'BabyMonster' achieved a remarkable record with their first album after debut, marking a successful debut in the global music market.

According to Hanteo Chart on the 8th, BabyMonster's debut mini album 'BABYMONS7ER' sold a total of 401,287 copies from April 1st to April 7th. This is the highest number of first-day album sales for a K-pop girl group's debut album.

'BABYMONS7ER' showed significant popularity with over 460,000 pre-orders. The formation of a dedicated fanbase through diverse self-produced content, along with high expectations for their music inherited from YG DNA, is attributed to this success. Considering that BabyMonster has just begun their full-fledged activities, it is expected that the final sales figures will increase further. Additionally, some overseas export quantities have not yet been accounted for, according to YG Entertainment.

BabyMonster is not only showing strength in album sales but also in various global charts. Their mini album ranked high on the iTunes Worldwide Album Chart, and the title track 'SHEESH' achieved the highest entry record for a K-pop girl group this year, reaching 69th place on Spotify's Global Top Songs Daily Chart, the world's largest music streaming platform.

As the next-generation 'YouTube Queen,' the popularity of the 'SHEESH' music video is also tremendous. After its release, it immediately topped the YouTube Global Weekly Chart after being the 'most-watched video within 24 hours.' The view count is rapidly increasing, surpassing 76.95 million views and approaching the milestone of 100 million views.

Meanwhile, BabyMonster is actively engaging with domestic fans through various content, television appearances, and fan signing events starting from this album. They are also expanding their activities into the global market with fan meeting tours in five Asian regions including Tokyo, Japan, Jakarta, Indonesia, Singapore, Taipei, and Bangkok, Thailand, as well as participating in Japan's largest music festival 'Summer Sonic 2024.'
