BTS's Jin has once again demonstrated his soaring popularity by reclaiming the top spot on the world's largest music search platform, Shazam, in Japan.

Jin's first solo single, 'The Astronaut,' reclaimed the top spot on the Shazam 'Japan TOP 200' chart on April 5th. The following day, on the 6th, it again topped the chart, securing the No. 1 position for two consecutive days, showcasing its enduring popularity and influence. Despite being released approximately 1 year and 6 months ago, 'The Astronaut' continues to receive immense love.

Released on October 28th, 2022, 'The Astronaut' is a song co-composed, written, and performed by Jin in collaboration with the globally renowned band Coldplay. It serves as a heartfelt gift to fans before Jin's military enlistment, expressing his love and gratitude in Korean. It marks Jin's first solo single.

Upon its release, 'The Astronaut' achieved 100 million streams on the world's largest music streaming platform, Spotify, in just 72 days, setting a record for the fastest achievement for a Korean male K-pop solo song at the time. As of April 5th, it has garnered 376,396,232 streams.

Despite fierce competition from the releases of Taylor Swift and Rihanna's new albums and singles, 'The Astronaut' debuted at No. 51 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart, setting a record amidst tough circumstances. It also immediately topped the Billboard 'Digital Song Sales Chart' and 'World Digital Song Sales Chart.'

It became the first solo single to be certified as a million-seller by the Korea Music Content Association (KMCA) and also obtained the Golden certification from the Japan RIA as the first Korean solo artist in 2022.

The music video for 'The Astronaut' achieved a record-breaking 17 consecutive days at No. 1 on the 'Global YouTube Popular Music Videos' chart, making Jin the first and longest-reigning K-pop solo artist to achieve this feat, surpassing his previous record of 16 consecutive days at No. 1 with 'Super Tuna.'
