Solid’s hit song ‘You Are My First and Last’ is being remade after 30 years.
HIGHKOLOR, a remake brand that re-sings emotions, unveiled its second project’s remake song on May 8th. The song to be revived in Vol.2 is Solid’s representative song ‘You Are My First and Last,’ released in 1996. This song is considered a turning point in Korean R&B ballads, captivating numerous listeners with its sophisticated arrangement, emotional melody, and profound vocals. It remains a beloved classic and is still considered one of the best R&B songs in Korea.
This remake goes beyond a simple re-recording. Jung Jae-yoon, the original composer and a member of Solid, participated directly in the arrangement, embarking on a project to redesign the emotions of an era. Jung Jae-yoon is currently an active hit producer in the United States and Chinese-speaking regions, and readily agreed to participate in the project, demonstrating his deep affection and commitment to the song.
HIGHKOLOR stated, "Jung Jae-yoon’s participation is significant in that it is not simply a remake, but an emotional restoration project with the original creator." They added, "The music reborn from the hands of the original creator will deliver a more genuine resonance to listeners."
HIGHKOLOR, under the slogan “Singing again, becoming clearer again,” is a remake project that restores emotions by adding the voices of the present to classic songs buried by time. Their first remake song, Ttamma’s ‘Despite Everything,’ immediately garnered high praise from music fans, with comments such as “Hearing this breakup song in today’s language” and “The lingering emotions of a different emotional line than the original song.”
HIGHKOLOR Vol.2 ‘You Are My First and Last’ will be released on the 18th, and the vocalist will be revealed later.
