VVS, the “Future of K-pop,” to Drop New Single ‘Purrfect’ Just 17 Days After Debut

Rising K-pop group VVS is set to release a brand-new single just 17 days after their official debut — a rapid comeback that highlights the group's bold ambition and creative drive.
On May 9 at 6 PM KST, VVS will unveil their new single “Purrfect”, accompanied by its official music video. This marks a swift follow-up to their debut tracks “TEA” and “Fact$,” which were released on April 22.
“Purrfect” is a rhythm-driven hip-hop track co-composed by Lay Bankz, a prominent U.S. rapper and producer. The track features a playful synth lead, heavy Jersey club beats, and a vibrant chorus, creating a dynamic soundscape layered with rich harmonies. Adding a nostalgic twist, the track samples sound effects from the classic video game Street Fighter, cleverly incorporating the iconic “You Win Perfect!” line into the production.
The lyrics and choreography of “Purrfect” embody VVS’s signature boldness and charm, delivering a confident and witty message only they can pull off. The music video complements this energy with a sleek visual aesthetic that accentuates the group's stylistic performance.
While their debut music video for “TEA,” directed in collaboration with renowned martial arts director Koji Kawamoto, stunned viewers with cinematic-scale action, “Purrfect” takes a different approach — focusing on rhythmic choreography and visual flair to showcase VVS’s refined style and presence.
Produced by multinational label MZMC, VVS is the company’s first K-pop idol group and has garnered major attention since debut. The five members — Britney, Ailee, Rana (a Japanese member lauded for her post-idol-level performance), Jiu, and Reewon — each bring a distinct flair. Together, they are being hailed as “five premium gems” with unique strengths, seen as innovators poised to reshape the texture of K-pop.
