MONSTA X member Hyungwon has been selected as the host for his first official event after completing his military service.
According to the organizing committee of ASEA, Hyungwon will host the second day, May 29th, of the ‘ASIA STAR ENTERTAINER AWARDS 2025’ (ASEA 2025), which will be held at the K-Arena Yokohama in Yokohama, Japan on May 28th and 29th. Having completed his 1 year and 6 months of military service and discharged on May 13th, Hyungwon will be leading a awards ceremony for the first time in his 10-year career on May 29th.
Hyungwon debuted as a member of MONSTA X in 2015 and has established himself as an ‘all-rounder entertainer’ by actively working in various fields such as acting, producing, DJing, and MCing, in addition to his team activities. In 2023, he formed the unit ‘SHOWNU X HYUNGWON’ with the team’s leader Shownu, showcasing his producing skills by writing two self-composed songs, the title track ‘Love Me A Little’ and the B-side track ‘Roll With Me’, on their album ‘THE UNSEEN’.
ASEA 2025 organizers also highly valued Hyungwon’s hosting abilities and selected him as the MC early on. He recently garnered attention among fans for his dazzling visuals, unaffected by his military service, and his reliable hosting skills at a free fan event celebrating his discharge. Expectations are high for Hyungwon’s performance as the MC of ASEA 2025.
