The girl group VVS has returned with another bold move.
VVS released their debut mini-album 'D.I.M.M (Diamonds In My Mouth)' on May 19th, shaking up the K-pop girl group landscape. The rookie group has been consistently releasing new music, including their debut singles 'TEA' and 'Fact$' on April 22nd, and 'Purrfect' on May 9th.
'D.I.M.M' is a hip-hop and R&B album filled with the powerful energy of the five members: Britney, Ailey, Lana, Jiu, and Riwon. It consists of five tracks and an interlude featuring a special guest. The title track pays homage to legendary hip-hop producer DJ Screw, adding to its appeal. VVS is showcasing an overwhelming presence with rapping, performances, and visuals that are rarely seen in existing idol groups.
The choreography for the title track was created in collaboration with WeDemBoyz and Shimizu. This combination of top-tier performers has created the ultimate synergy. VVS’s unique swag, energy, and distinct style are deeply embedded in the choreography. These characteristics, along with music that stays true to the roots of hip-hop, are fully captured in the music video.
VVS is the first girl group from the multinational label MZMC. MZMC’s CEO, Paul Brian Thompson, is a composer and producer who has collaborated with artists like Taeyeon, EXO, Red Velvet, NCT, and Kang Daniel, creating numerous K-pop hits. VVS is referred to as five top-grade gemstones, changing the texture of K-pop.
