Song Minho, a member of the boy group WINNER, has been sent to the prosecution for review. This comes amid concerns regarding potential negligence during his mandatory military service.

According to a report by News1 on May 23rd, the Seoul Mapo Police Station has sent Song Minho to the prosecution following an investigation into allegations of improper conduct during his time as a social service agent. Star News attempted to contact YG Entertainment, Song Minho’s agency, but has not yet received a response.

Previously, the police received a request for investigation from the Military Manpower Administration (MMA) and booked Song Minho on charges of violating the Military Service Act.

Song Minho began his alternative service as a social service agent on March 24, 2023, and completed his service on December 23rd of the same year. However, reports surfaced alleging that he did not fulfill his duties properly during his service period, sparking controversy. The police executed search warrants at Song Minho’s workplace and residence, securing CCTV footage and service records to verify his attendance and any potential absences.

The MMA has reportedly stated that if the police investigation confirms issues with Song Minho’s conduct, they may revoke his discharge and require him to complete the problematic period of service again, even after he has already been discharged.

WINNER is scheduled to hold a solo concert with only three members – Kang Seung-yoon, Kim Jin-woo, and Lee Seung-hoon – excluding Song Minho, at the Olympic Hall in Olympic Park, Seoul, on July 26th and 27th.
