The girl group ILLIT is starting a popularity surge with strong initial sales of their new album.

According to the album sales aggregation site Hanteo Chart on the 17th, ILLIT’s (Yuna, Minju, Moka, Wonhee, and Iroha) mini album 3rd album ‘bomb’ sold 326,117 copies on its release day, the previous day, topping the daily album chart. They are consistently breaking their own first-day sales records with each release. Notably, this album is ranking high on the iTunes and Apple Music 'Top Albums' charts in various countries and regions, including Japan, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Thailand, demonstrating ILLIT’s expanding global influence.

The songs are also gaining attention. The title track ‘Magnetic’ (Do the Dance) entered the Melon ‘Top 100’ and the real-time charts of Bugs and Genie immediately upon release. With its dreamy yet upbeat beat and unique lyrics like ‘Doomchitnyaong’ and ‘Kkungsinyaong’, the song is expected to continue its rise in popularity due to its addictive quality.

ILLIT’s popularity is even more prominent on Japanese music sites. Their songs ‘little monster’ and ‘oops!’ alternately topped the AWA Music real-time rising chart. ‘Magnetic’ (Do the Dance), ‘jellyous’, and ‘night picnic’ followed in succession, sweeping the top 5 spots on the chart. The music video is also receiving a hot response. The music video, which depicts the confident appearance of girls rushing towards their first love, is quickly increasing in views after its release and has risen to the top of the YouTube popular music rankings. Comments include praise such as "It keeps playing in my head," "It has ILLIT's color but feels new," and "I'm addicted to ILLIT's charming concept and visuals."

ILLIT’s signature hand gesture point choreography is also a hot topic. The ‘cat stretch dance’ which expresses a cat’s movements is expected to lead trends on various short-form platforms as it’s cute and easy to follow.

Positive reviews from foreign media are also pouring in. British music magazine NME stated on the 16th (local time) that “‘bomb’ is a swirling work full of cheerful and exciting pop music” and “ILLIT, now on their third album, seems to have clearly identified a style that suits them.” They continued, “Especially noteworthy in ‘Magnetic’ (Do the Dance) is the cute post-chorus consisting of ‘do’ and ‘da’ after the chorus,” adding, “It’s a charming song that seems to mimic the trembling and hesitation of young lovers talking to each other.”

ILLIT is preparing various events to experience their mini album 3rd album ‘bomb’. They will hold ‘Friends Night Picnic’ on the 17th at the outdoor stage of Yebit Island in Seoul, where they will unveil the performance of their new song for the first time. In addition, a pop-up store will be held at STAGE35 in Seongsu, Seoul, until the 26th, where you can meet physical albums and merchandise, as well as a photo zone that embodies the concept of ‘bomb’ through Everline.
