SEVENTEEN’s ‘THUNDER’ Achieves 8 Music Show Wins

The group SEVENTEEN (S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, The8, Mingyu, Dokyeom, Seungkwan, Vernon, Dino) has lifted their 8th music show trophy with their 5th full album.

SEVENTEEN topped the charts on Mnet’s ‘M Countdown’ on June 19th with the title track ‘THUNDER’ from their 5th full album ‘HAPPY BURSTDAY.’ They added another trophy to their collection without even appearing on MBC’s ‘Show! Music Core,’ continuing their successful run. The members expressed their gratitude on social media, saying, “This shining 1st place is a gift from CARATs (fandom name). Let’s be happy together forever.” ‘THUNDER,’ released on May 26th, has maintained its position in the top ranks of major music charts both domestically and internationally, enjoying long-lasting popularity. The song topped Melon’s ‘TOP 100’ and Bugs’ real-time and daily charts upon release, and has remained in the top ranks of the Circle Chart’s weekly digital chart for three consecutive weeks. It also successfully charted on Billboard’s ‘Global 200’ and ‘Global (excluding the US)’ for three consecutive weeks.

SEVENTEEN is also demonstrating remarkable performance on album charts. ‘HAPPY BURSTDAY’ recorded the highest first-week sales (album sales in the first week after release) among K-pop albums released this year and has charted on Billboard’s main album chart ‘Billboard 200’ for two consecutive weeks. Notably, they entered the chart at No. 2, achieving their highest ranking and tying their previous record.

SEVENTEEN will continue to connect with fans through diverse content. The full version of ‘Nana Inn with SEVENTEEN’ will be released today (June 20th) on the global superfan platform Weverse. Hoshi and Mingyu will appear on SBS’s ‘틈만 나면’ (If You Have Time) airing on June 24th. A day later, on June 25th, ‘GOING SEVENTEEN,’ known as ‘the Infinite Challenge of K-pop,’ will return with a new season.
