BTS Achieves Most RIAA Platinum Certifications for a Korean Artist

BTS has once again demonstrated their global influence, achieving the most RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) platinum certifications for a Korean artist.

On June 23rd (local time), the RIAA awarded new certifications to nine BTS songs. Four of their title tracks – “RUN” from their fourth mini-album *The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Pt. 2*, “Blood Sweat & Tears” from their second full-length album *WINGS*, “DNA” from *Love Yourself: Her*, and “Fake Love” from *Love Yourself: Tear* – all received platinum certifications, awarded to songs selling over 1 million units. With this, BTS now holds a total of 13 platinum certifications, setting a new record for the most RIAA platinum certifications achieved by a K-Pop artist.

Individual works by members also include Jimin’s solo album *FACE* title track “Like Crazy” and Jungkook’s solo single “Seven (feat. Latto),” both of which hold platinum certifications.

Last year, BTS received a “5x Platinum” certification (over 5 million units sold) from the RIAA for their global hit “Dynamite.” They are one of only two Korean artists to achieve this, alongside Psy (“Gangnam Style”).

BTS also added five Gold certifications to their collection. “Save ME” from the special album *The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Young Forever*, “Spring Day” from *You Never Walk Alone*, “ON” and “Black Swan” from the fourth full-length album *Map of the Soul: 7*, and “Permission to Dance” all received Gold certifications (over 500,000 units sold). This brings BTS’s total number of Gold certifications to 20.

The RIAA awards certifications based on digital single and album sales, categorizing them as Gold (over 500,000 units), Platinum (over 1 million units), Multi-Platinum (over 2 million units), and Diamond (over 10 million units). Unit counts are calculated by weighting album (physical/digital) sales, digital downloads, and audio and video streams.
