Lim Young Woong Surpasses 12 Billion Streams on Melon — A Monumental Record
Singer Lim Young Woong has achieved a major milestone, surpassing 12 billion cumulative streams on South Korea’s major music platform, Melon.
As of July 13, Lim Young Woong recorded 12,004,290,000 cumulative streams on Melon. Just 22 days earlier, on June 22, he had crossed 11.9 billion streams, meaning he garnered over 100 million additional streams in just over three weeks — a remarkable pace of growth.
In January 2023, Lim Young Woong was inducted into Melon’s Hall of Fame as a member of the “Gold Club” (for artists with 5 to 10 billion streams). More recently, on June 18, 2024, he surpassed 10 billion streams, earning a spot in the elite “Diamond Club,” joining the ranks of global superstars like BTS. Among solo artists, he holds the No. 1 record on the platform.
This historic achievement has been made possible thanks to the unwavering love and support from his loyal fanbase, Hero Generation (영웅시대), who have continued to fuel his streaming success.
Meanwhile, Lim Young Woong has hinted at a new album and concert tour in the second half of the year, raising anticipation among fans. He will also appear on KBS2’s “Immortal Songs: Lim Young Woong and Friends” (working title), airing in two parts on August 30 and September 6.
