Boy group MONSTA X is making a grand return with their mini album "THE X" on September 1.
On July 27, their agency Starship Entertainment unexpectedly dropped a "coming soon" video for the new album "THE X" on MONSTA X's official social media channels. The video begins with a symbolic scene of a flip clock, representing the passage of time from 2015 to 2025, commemorating MONSTA X’s 10th anniversary.
As the video progresses, dynamic graphics and stylish objects incorporating the number 10 and the mysterious "X" create a strong sense of immersion. Toward the end, the album name "THE X" and its release date, September 1, are revealed, sparking intense excitement from global fans. Additionally, the phrase "DO WHAT I WANT," inserted halfway through the video, piqued fans' curiosity and heightened anticipation for the comeback.
Even during their hiatus, MONSTA X has kept their presence alive through various solo, unit, and content-driven activities, consistently demonstrating their desire to return as a full group. Particularly, Joohoney, who has been a key driver of MONSTA X's musical direction, expressed his confidence during a fan event after his military discharge. He mentioned, “MONSTA X is coming back with a weapon to re-establish K-pop’s standards, which I’ve prepared. So, you can expect a lot.”
Additionally, MONSTA X premiered the track "Fire & Ice," a self-composed song by Hyungwon, during their recent 10th-anniversary concert "2025 MONSTA X CONNECT X." This song, which showcases the charm of all six members, raised expectations for the album’s high quality and stirred excitement among fans.
With MONSTA X having built a unique presence in the K-pop scene, fans and the general public alike are eagerly anticipating what kind of music and energy they will bring with "THE X."
MONSTA X will officially release their mini album "THE X" on September 1 and begin their full-fledged activities.
