Amid the dispute over an exclusive contract between girl group NewJeans and ADOR, members Minji and Danielle appeared in court for a mediation session.
On August 14, the Seoul Central District Court’s Civil Settlement Division 41 held a mediation session for the lawsuit filed by ADOR against NewJeans members (Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein), seeking confirmation of the validity of their exclusive contracts. That day, Minji and Danielle entered the courthouse amid a crowd of reporters.
Without making any public statements, the two headed inside to attend the closed-door mediation.
Ahead of the session, security personnel were deployed, and a barricade marked “restricted access” was installed in front of the courtroom, reflecting heightened security measures.
In the previous hearing, the court, citing the seriousness of the matter before delivering a verdict, announced that the mediation session would be held privately and requested the attendance of the NewJeans members, stating, “Those with actual authority should be present.”
If the parties fail to reach an agreement, the proceedings — which have already concluded oral arguments — will move to a verdict. The court has scheduled the ruling for October 30.
