On August 18, the LA Dodgers announced the news on their official social media, posting “ARMY, you ready?” along with the announcement that V will throw the ceremonial first pitch at Dodger Stadium on August 26 (local time: August 25). The event marks a special meeting between V—known for his strong interest in sports including baseball—and Major League Baseball, sparking an outpouring of excitement from global fans with just the notice alone. The synergy of a world-class sporting event and BTS, the “21st-century pop icons,” is drawing widespread attention. In particular, this will be V’s first-ever participation in a first pitch ceremony, heightening anticipation. Fans are also curious whether he will meet Dodgers’ Korean player Kim Hye-sung at the game.
