Rookie group CORTIS (Martin, James, Joohoon, Sunghyun, Geonho) is reaching global fans with a new English track.
On the 19th at 10 AM KST, CORTIS announced through global superfan platform Weverse the release of “What You Want (feat. Teezo Touchdown)”. This is the English version of their debut album’s title track “What You Want”, and will be released as a digital single on the 22nd at 1 PM KST. American singer-songwriter Teezo Touchdown participated as a featured artist, drawing attention. Known for his collaborations with hip-hop heavyweights like Tyler, the Creator, Drake, and Travis Scott, Teezo joins forces with “young creator crew” CORTIS, sparking high anticipation for their fresh perspectives and creative synergy.
The story behind the collaboration is also special. The two sides first connected last year during a songwriting camp in Los Angeles. At the time, Teezo had no prior knowledge of CORTIS, but after watching the five members work on music together, he readily agreed to collaborate. The result of that free-spirited session was “What You Want.” Reviving the demo recorded in English back then, the track is now being officially released. The song’s original message—boldly declaring the pursuit of one’s desires—is now amplified with Teezo Touchdown’s unique energy and flair, adding a refreshing twist.
Meanwhile, CORTIS made their dazzling debut on the 18th with the release of their title track “What You Want.” Its conceptual performance film surpassed 1 million YouTube views by 10:07 AM on the 19th, just a day after its release (August 18 KST). The video also entered trending charts, including Korea’s YouTube Trending Music Videos, as well as ranking on Japan’s Line Music and QQ Music’s MV charts in China, signaling a strong start.
The five members will meet fans through music shows starting with Mnet’s “M Countdown” on the 21st. Their performance will feature a unique concept with the members moving across 11 continuously running treadmills, expected to captivate viewers with its originality.
