“Trust-and-listen performers” MONSTA X (Shownu, Minhyuk, Kihyun, Hyungwon, Joohoney, and I.M) are back.
According to their agency Starship Entertainment, MONSTA X will release their new mini-album THE X today (Sept. 1) at 6 p.m. (KST) through various music platforms, marking their official comeback. At 8 p.m., they will host a comeback talk live via MONSTA X’s official YouTube channel to celebrate the moment with fans. THE X encapsulates MONSTA X’s ten-year journey since their debut in 2015. Known for pioneering the K-pop scene with their powerful performances and music, the group presents new possibilities and directions with this latest album, once again set to shake up the industry. Above all, as this marks their long-awaited return as a complete six-member lineup, fan anticipation is higher than ever.
The album features six tracks in total, including the pre-release song Do What I Want, the title track N the Front, as well as Savior, Tuscan Leather, Catch Me Now, and Fire & Ice. Members Hyungwon, Joohoney, and I.M—who have consistently contributed to shaping MONSTA X’s musical identity—participated in writing and composing, further solidifying the group’s unique narrative.
The title track N the Front is a song that best encapsulates MONSTA X’s present. Carrying the declaration, “Rather than following someone else, we become the standard,” it embodies the group’s attitude of not being confined by others’ frames, but instead defining the “front” on their own terms.
