BTS has officially achieved their first music video to surpass 2 billion views.

The music video for their digital single “Dynamite,” released worldwide on August 21, 2020, through HYBE Labels’ YouTube channel, exceeded 2 billion views at around 9:16 a.m. on September 4. With this, “Dynamite” has become the very first BTS music video to reach the 2-billion-view milestone, marking yet another historic achievement. After hitting 1.9 billion views last December, the video gained another 100 million views in just about nine months.

“Dynamite” is a bright and cheerful disco-pop track, celebrated as BTS’s first-ever English-language single. The music video combines addictive rhythms with lively, dynamic performances. Its upbeat concept highlights both the members’ relaxed enjoyment of music and their powerful, high-energy choreography.

Recently, “Dynamite” ranked 34th on Apple Music’s list of “Most Played Songs Worldwide Over the Past Decade.” Along with “Butter,” it was one of only two K-pop songs to make the chart, reaffirming BTS’s global influence.

With “Dynamite,” BTS reached a monumental milestone. The song made history as the first by a Korean artist to top the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, where it stayed at No. 1 for three weeks. It also won “Best Song” at the 2020 MTV Europe Music Awards and “Top Selling Song” at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards. Additionally, it earned the fastest-ever Diamond streaming certification (over 500 million streams) from the Recording Industry Association of Japan, cementing its record-breaking success.
