BTS member Jungkook has set another shining milestone with his solo album GOLDEN.

Released in November 2023, Jungkook’s first solo album GOLDEN has now charted for 500 days on Apple Music’s European Album Chart. This comes just about four months after the album surpassed 400 days on the same chart back in April.

In July, GOLDEN also made history by becoming the first and longest-charting K-pop soloist album on Apple Music’s Worldwide Album Chart, where it stayed for 600 days. The album also charted for 600 days on Apple Music’s U.S. Pop Album Chart. In addition, it remained on the iTunes Worldwide Album Chart for 400 days and on the iTunes European Album Chart for 200 days, further proving its global impact.

On Spotify, the world’s largest music streaming platform, GOLDEN set another record as the first and longest-charting album by an Asian solo artist on the Weekly Top Albums Global chart, maintaining a streak of 95 consecutive weeks. Recently, the album also became the first Asian soloist album to surpass 6 billion cumulative streams on Spotify.

GOLDEN debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, the main album chart of U.S. music media outlet Billboard, and went on to chart for 25 weeks — a first for an Asian solo artist. On the UK Official Albums Top 100, considered the counterpart to Billboard, the album became the first K-pop soloist record to remain on the chart for eight weeks.

On iTunes, GOLDEN topped the Album Chart in 106 countries and regions following its release.

In terms of sales, Jungkook achieved an extraordinary 9.2 million equivalent album sales (EAS) with just this one album, ranking him as the best-selling K-pop solo artist in history.

According to Hanteo Chart, GOLDEN sold more than 2 million copies within just five hours of release, immediately becoming a “double million-seller.” It also set a record by achieving the highest first-week sales for a K-pop solo artist with its release-day numbers alone. By the second week, cumulative sales had reached 2,501,158 copies — making it the first solo album in 13 years, since Hanteo’s 2010 system revision, to surpass 2.5 million sales.
