JYP Entertainment’s rookie group KickFlip will be making their comeback with “The First Song I’ve Ever Sung,” a track written and composed by member Donghyun.
At midnight on September 5, KickFlip revealed the tracklist for their new mini album My First Flip through their official social media channels. The tracklist video showed the pages of a manual book flipping open to unveil the album’s contents. According to the reveal, the album will include seven songs in total: the title track “The First Song I’ve Ever Sung”, the pre-released MV track “Band-Aid”, “Singularity”, “Again, Here”, “Gas On It”, “404: Not Found”, and “It’s a Secret I Had a Nightmare.”
The members participated in the credits for all seven tracks, including the title track, once again showcasing the musical talent of these fresh newcomers to the K-pop scene.
From their debut album Flip it, Kick it! to their previous second mini album Kick Out, Flip Now!, KickFlip members have consistently taken part in songwriting and composition to define the group’s distinct style. This time, their involvement in the entire tracklist carries even greater significance. My First Flip—a wordplay on My First Love by replacing “love” with “Flip”—tells the story of a clumsy, chaotic first love. While their first and second mini albums expressed youthful defiance against nagging at home and school, this new release will explore KickFlip’s take on first love, heightening anticipation among fans in Korea and abroad.
KickFlip’s third mini album My First Flip and its title track “The First Song I’ve Ever Sung” will be released on September 22 at 6 PM.
