Global girl group KATSEYE’s hit song “Gabriela” surpassed 200 million cumulative streams on the world’s largest music streaming platform, Spotify, on September 4 (local time).
It achieved this milestone just 77 days after its release on June 20 — the fastest among KATSEYE’s tracks to reach the same figure. Their song “Touch”, now streamed over 430 million times, took 139 days to hit 200 million, while “Gnarly” reached the mark in 113 days. “Gabriela” shortened that record by 36 days.
“Gabriela”, included in KATSEYE’s second EP Beautiful Chaos, blends Latin-inspired acoustic guitar with trendy pop sounds, with Daniela’s Spanish-language part standing out as a particular highlight. Combined with the members’ sensual performances, the song amplifies KATSEYE’s mature charm.
KATSEYE’s monthly Spotify listeners have also been steadily growing. In the most recent tally (August 7–September 3), their monthly listeners reached 28,311,472. After surpassing 25 million about a month ago, their numbers have continued to climb sharply.
“Gabriela” is also enjoying strong success on major global music charts. On the latest Billboard Hot 100 (dated September 6), it ranked No. 63, rising each week from No. 76 (August 23) to No. 72 (August 30). In the latest UK Official Singles Top 100 (September 5–11), it climbed seven spots from the previous week to No. 46, marking its ninth consecutive week on the chart.
Formed through the global audition project The Debut: Dream Academy, KATSEYE is a joint girl group between HYBE and Geffen Records. Growing under HYBE America’s T&D (Training & Development) system, they are regarded as a prime example of Chairman Bang Si-hyuk’s “multi-home, multi-genre” strategy in action.
