CORTIS, BigHit’s Confident “New Hit”! Dominating Major Charts in Korea, the U.S., Japan, and China
BigHit Music’s “new hit,” CORTIS (Martin, James, Juhun, Sunghyun, Gunho), has taken over major domestic and international charts.
According to Hanteo Chart on the 11th, the group’s debut album COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES surpassed 310,000 cumulative sales in just three days after release. Following their record-setting achievement of the highest first-day sales among rookies debuting this year, the group continues to show remarkable upward momentum.
CORTIS’s performance shines even brighter on the global charts. Their debut album entered Apple Music U.S. “Top Albums” (Sept 9) at No. 65 — making them the only K-pop artist on the chart that day. The album also debuted at No. 88 on the U.S. iTunes “Top Albums” before peaking at No. 32 as of midnight on the 11th, proving their rapid rise in the heart of the global music market.
In Japan, the album landed at No. 2 on Oricon’s Daily Album Ranking (Sept 9), signaling a strong local response from the very first day of release.
Their success on China’s largest music streaming platform, QQ Music, is equally noteworthy. On the latest charts (Sept 10), every track from the debut album entered the Soaring, Popularity, and New Songs charts. The intro track “GO!” claimed No. 1 on the Soaring Chart, while “FaSHioN” ranked No. 3, title track “What You Want” No. 13, “JoyRide” No. 17, and “Lullaby” No. 52. On QQ Music’s main Hot Songs Chart, “GO!” ranked No. 3, “FaSHioN” No. 27, and “JoyRide” No. 84 — securing three entries in total.
