Singer Lim Young-woong is sweeping the Male Solo category in the preliminary round of the “10th Anniversary Asia Artist Awards 2025 (AAA 2025)” popularity vote.
The AAA 2025 Popularity Award voting began on September 24 through Idol Champ, a mobile idol fandom application jointly operated by MBC PLUS and the mobile advertising platform company TNK Factory.
As of 10:30 a.m. on the 25th, Lim Young-woong ranked first place in the Male Solo Singer category with 48.47% of the votes, securing over 40,000 votes and proving his overwhelming presence.
Stray Kids’ Seungmin followed in second place with 9.43%, while BTS’s Jimin and V, along with NCT’s Mark, also entered the Top 5, signaling fierce competition.
Earlier, from September 9, 3 p.m. (KST) to September 18, 11:59 p.m., Lim Young-woong also won first place in the Male Solo category during the AAA 2025 preliminary voting held on the STARPOLL app, garnering 54,586 votes. Seungmin took second with 49,176 votes, BTS Jin came in third with 33,560 votes, followed by V with 23,460 votes, and Mark with 16,674 votes in fifth. BTS’s Jimin, G-Dragon, Wonho, WOODZ, and BTS Jungkook also ranked in the Top 10.
Additionally, NCT’s Doyoung and Haechan, BTS’s Jin, GOT7’s BamBam, 2PM’s Junho, SHINee’s Taemin, GOT7’s Youngjae, BTS’s J-Hope, Kim Jaejoong, Lee Seungyoon, BTS’s RM, TXT’s Yeonjun, BTS’s Suga, ASTRO’s Cha Eunwoo, MONSTA X’s Shownu, EXO’s Baekhyun, Kim Yongbin, SEVENTEEN’s DK, MONSTA X’s Kihyun, Jang Minho, and Park Seojin all secured spots within the Top 30, advancing to the preliminaries.
Unlike last year, where voting covered only four categories (Male/Female Actor Popularity Award, Male/Female Singer Popularity Award), this year’s Idol Champ vote expands to six categories: Male/Female Actor Popularity Award, Male/Female Group Popularity Award, and Male/Female Solo Popularity Award. Outstanding artists in each category will be selected through voting. The preliminary round runs from September 24 to October 13, while the final round will be held from October 16 to November 5. For mixed groups nominated in multiple categories, results will be reflected separately per category.
The voting system has also changed. While the Top 10 from the preliminaries advance to the finals, the preliminary votes will also account for 30% of the total final score, ensuring an intense battle until the end. Idol Champ is also hosting an event where fans who participate in voting can win AAA 2025 tickets, points for voting, and other prizes.
The global No.1 awards ceremony, the Asia Artist Awards (AAA), will be held on December 6 at the National Stadium in Kaohsiung, marking its 10th anniversary. The ceremony will be hosted by Lee Junho and Jang Wonyoung.
On December 7, a special concert festival “ACON 2025” will also heat up the stadium, hosted by Lee Jun-young, (G)I-DLE’s Shuhua, CRAVITY’s Allen, and Kiki Sui.
