BTS member Jungkook’s solo album “GOLDEN” has officially surpassed 10 million total sales, setting a new milestone for K-pop solo artists.
Jungkook’s first solo album “GOLDEN” recently exceeded 10 million equivalent album sales (EAS). With just this one album release, Jungkook has achieved an extraordinary feat—becoming the best-selling K-pop solo artist in history.
Although “GOLDEN” was released in 2023, it had already recorded 9.2 million EAS as of May this year. In less than six months, the album has soared past the 10 million mark, showcasing Jungkook’s unstoppable global popularity.
Last year, “GOLDEN” also set a world record as the best-selling debut album by any male artist worldwide in the past decade, with 8.4 million sales. On Spotify, the world’s largest music streaming platform, “GOLDEN” became the first album by an Asian solo artist and the fastest full-length album by an Asian artist to surpass 6.2 billion streams.
Moreover, on Spotify’s main chart, “Weekly Top Albums Global”, “GOLDEN” has entered the rankings for 104 consecutive weeks, marking a historic record as both the first and longest-charting album by an Asian solo artist — a streak that continues to this day.
