BTS Jungkook Sets New Record as the First and Longest-Charting Asian Artist on Two Billboard Global Charts — 119 and 120 Weeks
BTS member Jungkook continues his record-breaking streak on the U.S. Billboard charts, further solidifying his global presence.
According to the Billboard chart released on November 8 (local time), Jungkook’s debut solo single “Seven” (feat. Latto), released in 2023, ranked No. 157 on the Global 200 chart. The song has now spent 119 weeks on the Global 200 since its release—setting a new record as the first and longest-charting song by an Asian solo artist or group on the chart.
“Seven” also ranked No. 88 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart for the week of November 8, marking its 120th consecutive week on the chart — another first and longest record for an Asian solo artist.
Previously, “Seven” topped the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart for nine consecutive weeks and the Global 200 for seven consecutive weeks, becoming the first Asian artist’s song in history to simultaneously hold the No. 1 position on both charts for seven straight weeks.
Jungkook also made history as the first solo artist worldwide to have three songs in a single year (“Seven,” “3D,” and “Standing Next to You”) reach No. 1 on both the Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. charts, rewriting Billboard’s global records.
Additionally, “Seven” debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s main singles chart, the Hot 100, and stayed on the chart for 15 weeks. On the UK Official Singles Top 100, considered the other major global chart alongside Billboard, the track debuted at No. 3, and went on to become the first song by a K-pop solo artist to remain on the chart for 14 consecutive weeks, showcasing its tremendous streaming power and popularity.
“Seven” was named No. 1 on Billboard’s “Global Summer Songs of 2023” and also crowned the most popular song across more than 200 regions outside the U.S. in Billboard’s 2024 “International Power Players” ranking, further proving its global dominance.
