Singer Sung Si Kyung’s former manager, who allegedly took unfair financial advantage while working closely with him for many years, has been officially accused by a third party.

According to police reports on November 10, the Yeongdeungpo Police Station in Seoul received a complaint requesting investigation into the former manager for embezzlement and violation of the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes. The case has been assigned to the station’s 1st Investigation Division.

The complainant reportedly wrote in the document, “The Sung Si Kyung case reminds me of the Shohei Ohtani interpreter scandal that made headlines across the United States. Exploiting the trust of a public figure for personal gain must be dealt with firmly.”

They added, “Considering Sung Si Kyung’s standing in the industry, the financial damage is expected to be significant. I urge the investigative authorities to conduct a thorough investigation, carefully review the application of the specific economic crimes law, and handle the matter with strictness.”

It was recently revealed that Sung Si Kyung suffered financial and emotional damage due to the misconduct of his former manager, with whom he had worked for over a decade. His agency, SK Jaewon, stated, “We confirmed that Sung Si Kyung’s former manager committed acts that betrayed the company’s trust during his tenure. After an internal investigation, we recognized the seriousness of the situation and are currently verifying the full scope of the damages.” The former manager has since left the company.

Sung Si Kyung later expressed his pain on social media, writing, “The past few months have been truly distressing and difficult to endure. Having my trust broken by someone I cherished and considered family isn’t new in my 25-year career, but it doesn’t get any easier with age.”

Reports suggest that the former manager caused financial harm not only to Sung Si Kyung but also to business partners and subcontractors. Some even claim he profited billions of won by secretly reselling concert tickets under the guise of anti-scalping operations, further fueling controversy.

Despite the turmoil, Sung Si Kyung plans to move forward and hold his 2025 year-end concert “Sung Si Kyung” at KSPO DOME in Seoul’s Songpa District from December 25 to 28.
