NewJeans members Haerin and Hyein will continue their exclusive contracts with ADOR.
On November 12, ADOR released an official statement, saying, “NewJeans members Haerin and Hyein have expressed their intention to continue their activities with ADOR.” The company continued, “After careful consideration together with their families and sufficient discussions with ADOR, the two members decided to respect the court’s ruling and uphold their exclusive contracts.”
ADOR further stated, “We will do our best to ensure that Haerin and Hyein can continue their entertainment activities smoothly. We ask for warm support from fans and respectfully request that speculation about the members be refrained from.”
NewJeans had previously announced the termination of their contract with ADOR in November 2024, citing the agency’s failure to fulfill contractual obligations. In response, ADOR filed a lawsuit in December 2024 seeking confirmation of the validity of the exclusive contracts, arguing that NewJeans had unilaterally declared contract termination.
ADOR maintained that the contracts with NewJeans remained valid, while NewJeans claimed that they had lost trust in ADOR after former CEO Min Hee-jin and several key staff members left the company.
However, on October 30, the Civil Agreement Division 41 of the Seoul Central District Court (Presiding Judge Jung Hoe-il) ruled in favor of ADOR, stating, “It is confirmed that the exclusive contracts are valid. The defendants shall bear the litigation costs.”
