Stray Kids Set Another First — Surpass 1 Million Spotify Countdown Plays

Stray Kids have signaled a powerful comeback by setting a new record on Spotify.

“DO IT,” the title track of Stray Kids’ SKZ IT TAPE scheduled for release on November 21, has surpassed 1 million Spotify Countdown plays, the Spotify metric that reflects user interest based on pre-save numbers prior to album release. This achievement marks the first time ever for a K-pop album, and positions Stray Kids as the third act in history to reach the milestone following Taylor Swift’s “The Life of a Showgirl” and Tame Impala’s “Deadbeat.” The result once again proves the group’s explosive global popularity.

In addition, the new album ranked No. 1 for three consecutive weeks on Spotify’s Countdown Chart Global Top 10, which ranks releases by weekly pre-save count. After becoming the first K-pop album to top the chart on the November 5 chart, Stray Kids remained at No. 1 through November 19, maximizing pre-release hype ahead of the comeback.

SKZ IT TAPE is an album designed to express the hottest and most powerful mood Stray Kids want to showcase through music, and “DO IT” marks a bold beginning of that concept. The new release contains five tracks in total — the double title tracks “DO IT” and “Racket,” along with “Holiday,” “Photobook,” and “DO IT (Festival Version).” As always, Stray Kids’ in-house production team 3RACHA — Bang Chan, Changbin, and Han — took charge of all tracks on the album.
