Zico Teams Up with Yoasobi’s Ikura Following Collaborations with Jennie and IU, Raising Expectations

Singer Zico is set to expand his musical spectrum once again through a fresh collaboration.

Artist and producer Zico will release a new digital single titled “DUET” on the 19th. Known for his consistent work with artists across various genres, Zico presents a new duet track this time in collaboration with Japanese musician Lilas (Ikura of YOASOBI).

Zico has continually showcased diverse music through collaborations, with his distinctive tracks blending seamlessly with the musical colors of his partners to create fresh results. His collaboration with BLACKPINK’s Jennie, “SPOT! (feat. JENNIE),” became one of last year’s biggest hits. In June of this year, he also released “EKO EKO” with renowned Japanese artist m-flo, receiving enthusiastic responses for its genre- and language-crossing combination.

In addition, Zico has earned widespread acclaim for tracks such as “New Thing (Prod. ZICO) (feat. Homies),” which helped drive the domestic hip-hop boom, “Say Yes Or No (feat. PENOMECO, The Quiett),” “SoulMate (feat. IU),” created with IU, and “Summer Hate (feat. Rain),” featuring Rain.

Expectations are also high for his upcoming song with Lilas. The unexpected pairing itself has drawn attention. Zico is a defining figure of Korean hip-hop, while Lilas, through her work with YOASOBI and her solo projects, is regarded as a leading figure in Japanese band music. Interest is growing in the synergy that this meeting of “top-tier” artists from Korea and Japan will produce.

Zico has been sharing hints about “DUET” through his personal social media accounts and YouTube channel. A previously released meeting video included a preview of the new track, drawing significant attention. The bright and upbeat sound has heightened curiosity about the full release. Zico plans to sequentially unveil behind-the-scenes content and related materials documenting the production of “DUET.”
