Girl group I.O.I has begun the countdown to their long-awaited reunion.
I.O.I (Jeon Somi, Kim Sejeong, Choi Yoojung, Chungha, Kim Sohye, Zhou Jieqiong, Jung Chaeyeon, Kim Doyeon, Kang Mina, Lim Nayoung, and Yoo Yeonjung) was an 11-member girl group formed through Mnet’s Produce 101. The group debuted in May 2016 and concluded its project activities in January 2017.
Although their time together lasted only about a year, the members have decided to reunite as a full group in celebration of their upcoming 10th debut anniversary next year. However, Kang Mina will not be participating in the reunion activities due to her schedule for an upcoming drama, including filming and promotional activities.
Details about the concert schedule have also been hinted at. On the December 22 broadcast of KBS Cool FM’s Oh My Girl Hyojung’s Volume Up, Yoo Yeonjung responded to a listener’s question: “We keep hearing news about I.O.I reuniting, and it makes my heart flutter. Will it be early, mid, or late 2026? Please give us a spoiler.”
Yoo Yeonjung replied, “We were actually preparing everything very secretly and wanted to suddenly surprise everyone, but our youngest member, Somi, already shared quite a bit, so many fans already know. So I’ll just say it openly now. Yes, we are getting back together, and while I can’t share the details, the concert venue has already been booked.”
She continued, “If I had to choose between early, mid, or late, I’d say early to mid. Since our debut was in the warm spring, that’s the timing you can think of. Because it’s a meaningful 10th anniversary, we all agreed not to take this lightly, and we’re preparing very seriously. Please look forward to it.”
