MONSTA X’s Joohoney, widely recognized as a “trusted listen” artist, officially kicked off his solo comeback alongside his fans.
On the 5th, Joohoney hosted a Special Comeback Live via MONSTA X’s official YouTube channel to celebrate the release of his second mini album, “光 (INSANITY).” The broadcast was designed to spotlight his first solo release in two years and eight months while allowing real-time interaction with global fans.
Appearing in a striking red robe-style outfit, Joohoney immediately set an intense mood as he opened the live with powerful performances of the album tracks “光 (Gwang)” and “Fear,” delivering concert-level energy. After the stage, he greeted fans by saying, “Today, I’m greeting you as a solo artist. Just two hours ago, at 6 p.m., my second mini album ‘光 (INSANITY)’ was released,” expressing heartfelt excitement toward MONBEBE, the group’s official fandom.
During the talk segment, Joohoney delved deeper into the album’s concept. He explained the main theme of “光 (Gwang)” as carrying dual meanings: “madness” and “light.” When asked when he feels both the most “insane” and the most “radiant,” he replied, “Right now. This very moment, being together with MONBEBE, is when I’m most insane and most radiant,” deeply moving viewers. In response to fans’ concerns about his nonstop schedule and comments asking when he sleeps, Joohoney joked, “I’ll sleep when I’m dead. This is just the beginning, so please support me so I can keep running,” showing his passionate drive.
An album unboxing segment hosted by Joohoney himself also drew attention. He revealed various album concepts and photo sets while sharing behind-the-scenes stories, and proudly introduced an album version featuring a towel symbolizing a boxer, highlighting his confidence in the new release.
