Actor Lee Jun-young is driving the upward trend of the JTBC Saturday-Sunday drama 'New Employee Kang (Chairman)'. The drama recorded a viewership rating of 8.2% and a peak per-minute rating of 8.8% within just four episodes of broadcast. Since its premiere with a 3.7% rating, it has broken its own record for the highest viewership in every subsequent episode.

Lee Jun-young portrayed Hwang Jun-hyun, a character possessed by the soul of 72-year-old Chairman Kang Yong-ho (played by Son Hyun-joo). After rejoining the Choi Sung Group as an intern, he has shown relentless progress. He has received high praise for bridging the gap between a 27-year-old youth and a 72-year-old chairman through differences in his gaze, speech patterns, and vocal tone.

In scenes where he confronts the hostility of the sales team and delivers a sharp critique of corporate culture at a company dinner, he displayed distinct atmospheres. His chemistry with his family also forms a central pillar of the drama. He meets the youngest daughter, Kang Bang-eul (played by Lee Ju-myung), as a colleague, creating laughter, while also showing paternal affection toward his daughter.

A scene where he tells his wife, Jo Sun-hee (played by Yoon Yoo-sun), "Why are you so thin? How much hardship must you have endured?" drew the attention of viewers. His acting, featuring a gaze that contrasts with his youthful appearance, left a lingering impression.

JTBC Saturday-Sunday drama 'New Employee Kang (Chairman)' airs on Saturdays at 10:40 p.m. and Sundays at 10:30 p.m.
