In “Doctor X: The Age of the White Mafia,” Kim Ji-won volunteers to perform a perilous surgery that has a success rate close to 0%.

SBS’s Friday-Saturday drama “Doctor X: The Age of the White Mafia” (hereinafter “Doctor X”) is a refreshing medical noir depicting the exploits of Doctor X, “Gye Su-jung,” the “crazy Gye of the operating room,” who shatters massive injustices with her genius surgical skills that know no failure or compromise.

In the previous Episode 5, Gye Su-jung (played by Kim Ji-won) delivered a satisfying retribution to Na Dae-il (played by Jang Seung-jo), who trampled on bioethics and committed heinous acts. After personally performing Na Dae-il’s surgery, Gye Su-jung issued a chilling warning: “From now on, if you get sick or injured, I will unconditionally be the lead surgeon for that operation. I will open your body and close it. I will play with you until you are worn out.” With this, she provided intense catharsis befitting her role as a “medical dark hero.”

Amidst this, the production team of “Doctor X” released an advance preview video for Episode 6 on the 24th, featuring Gye Su-jung’s radical declaration to lead the surgery, heightening anticipation for the main broadcast.

The released video begins by capturing attention as medical staff at Gu Seodae Hospital gather for a surgical conference and engage in a tense standoff over whether to operate on a patient with a gunshot wound to the brain. Professor Hwang (played by Kang Hak-soo) raised his voice, saying, “You’re telling us to take this on?” and “It’s either table death or becoming a vegetable. What else is it if not forcing us to take on a surgery with no guarantee that the patient will come out of the operating room in one piece?”

Professor Jang (played by Im Cheol-hyung) also fiercely objected, asking, “Who is going to do it?” Since the success of the surgery cannot be guaranteed, no one stepped forward readily, and tension filled the air. At that moment, Gye Su-jung burst into the conference hall with her hand raised high, boldly exclaiming in an excited tone, “Me! I will be the lead surgeon!” instantly reversing the atmosphere.

Will Gye Su-jung successfully complete the ultra-high-difficulty brain surgery that everyone avoids and once again prove her overwhelming surgical skills? Expectations soar for the exploits that Gye Su-jung, the “crazy Gye of the operating room,” will unfold in a situation where not even an inch ahead can be predicted.

Meanwhile, Episode 6 of “Doctor X” airs at 9:50 p.m. on the 24th.
