The agency of actress Cha Ye-ryeon, who has been embroiled in school violence suspicions, announced that it would take legal action.

Her affiliated company, HB Entertainment, stated in an official statement on the 4th: "We express deep regret for causing concern to fans who care about the actress and the general public due to the ongoing controversy surrounding Cha Ye-ryeon online."

The agency continued: "We have conveyed our position that the claims regarding the actress's past raised online are 'baseless.' However, we take the current situation very seriously, in which unverified claims and speculation raised anonymously continue to spread repeatedly, and criticism is even directed at the actress's family."

The affiliated company added: "We will thoroughly secure relevant materials and respond responsibly after legal review regarding malicious dissemination of false information and personal attacks. We will also take strong measures to prevent further damage from the spread of false information."

Previously, a person claiming to be Cha Ye-ryeon's classmate, identified as A, alleged that while attending a middle school in Seoul, they were slapped by a female actress born in 1985 and subjected to violence severe enough to tear their eardrum. At the time, A did not disclose their real name, but Cha Ye-ryeon was identified based on clues such as the age and school of origin mentioned in the exposé post.

In response, Cha Ye-ryeon's agency, HB Entertainment, denied the suspicions, stating they were "baseless." However, despite the explanation, suspicions of school violence surrounding her persisted, and the agency ultimately announced that it would take legal action.
