The film 'Hope,' directed by Na Hong-jin, was released in France and demonstrated remarkable strength by recording the highest opening revenue among Korean films released locally this year on its first day.

'Hope,' which drew attention after being invited to the competition section of the Cannes International Film Festival held last May, recently opened across 192 screens throughout France, recording an opening revenue of approximately $800,000. On the 31st, during its opening weekend, it ranked second at the box office in Paris, a core market accounting for 31% of France's total box office revenue.

The momentum of 'Hope,' which proved its box office strength centered on major French cities, continued in Belgium as well. Released across 38 screens in Belgium, 'Hope' recorded an opening revenue of approximately $64,000, significantly surpassing the opening performances of 'Decision to Leave' and 'Burning.' Following France, 'Hope,' which is also drawing attention in Belgium, is expected to continue expanding its box office momentum in the European market and meeting global audiences.

Meanwhile, 'Hope' tells the story that begins when "Beom-seok," the head of the outpost at Hopo Port located in the Demilitarized Zone, hears news from local young men about a tiger's appearance, leading to an emergency situation across the entire village as he encounters an unbelievable reality. Actors Hwang Jung-min, Jo In-sung, and Jung Ho-yeon, among others, star in the film.
