On the 24th at 1 p.m., Jennie will simultaneously release the audio and music video for her single 'Less than a Lover' on various music platforms and official YouTube channels worldwide. The new song, which Jennie contributed to in both lyrics and composition, is an alternative pop track created with summer in mind.

'Less than a Lover' encapsulates the excitement and lingering aftertaste of a relationship that is neither lover nor friend within its title expression. The arrangement features lo-fi guitar sounds and vintage electric keyboards creating a languid texture.

Previously, Jennie introduced the new song on stage at Poland's 'Open'er Festival', describing it as "a song written while thinking of summer." This music video was filmed in Spain, and Jennie participated in all aspects of the song production, including directing the music video.

Teasing content, including released teaser images and music video teasers, immediately topped real-time trends on various social media platforms upon release. The 'Less than a Lover' pre-save page launched via Spotify and Apple Music became overwhelmed with users waiting in line shortly after opening, causing temporary site outages.

Jennie previously maintained the 5th position on Billboard's 'HOT 100' and the 1st position on the 'Pop Airplay' chart with her collaboration track 'Dracula (JENNIE Remix)' featuring Tame Impala. Following this new song release, she is expected to perform at festivals including Lollapalooza Chicago in the United States and Summer Sonic 2026 in Japan.
